The Wonderful World Wide Web

First Wonderful Thing:

Nick and Dev have been holidaying in NZ for the past week and are due home in Melbourne today.
I checked their flight home on Melbourne Airport and found that Tullamarine has live radar tracking of all flights. This is the status of their flight as at 1:08 pm today:

Second Wonderful Thing:

You guys may wish to download Google Earth. With this, you can get satellite photos of the whole world.

The photos for Perth are fairly high in resolution, but unfortunately, those for Singapore are not. Also the pics for Singapore are partially obscured by cloud.

Below are some pics I've downloaded. Firstly, my neighbourhood:

The schools are the ones our boys went to; and the Leisureplex is where I swim thrice a week and Cheryl has her aquarobics also thrice a week. You can also see the swimming pool at the high school. The distance between our home and the shopping centre as the crow flies is 0.79 km (the programme allows you to measure distances, both in a straight line and via a path).

A close-up of our street (our home is arrowed):

And our house:

You can also visit natural wonders like Ayers Rock:

And what's really wonderful is that you can zoom in to a horizontal view and fly around the landmark:

Here's a view from another aspect and angle:

Download the programme and have fun!
