Jury duty #4: Outcome

You may remember I was summonsed to jury duty in Dec '05.

The trial involved a bloke who drove over 170 km/hr in a 70 zone, after illegally removing his 6 cylinder engine and replacing it with a v8. He crashed and killed his front seat passenger.

The charge was Unlawful Killing.

The trial lasted 3 days; we found him guilty and he was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in jail. He also lost his licence for 2 years.

I was very disappointed, that, this time around, there was no free hot lunch for jurors any more, unlike the last 3 juries I served on.

Bloody govt cutbacks!
