Autumn Leaves

In 2002, we re-did our front yard. I wanted a tree with good autumn foliage.
We chose the Chinese Tallow because the local shopping centre had some and, as well as the autumn colour, I liked the shape of the leaves.

The above picture shows it at time of planting in Nov 2002.

However, it never gave us an autumn display. The leaves just turned yellow each year and dropped off.

This year, however, it finally began to show some promise of colourful autumns for us.
Looks like it needed a bit of time to mature before it can do the right thing.

As they say, the best time to plant a tree is ten years ago!

And, for my Canadian friend, here's a maple leaf which fell into my yard from my neighbour's tree, and which I put through my scanner:

    They say the older the lovers, the better they are. Same for your tree!ucdzkwrd
    Somehow the shape of the maple leaf don't look right!
