On closer inspection, they were insulin needles - some poor diabetic must have dropped his bag of needles!
2. A kite in a tree - reminiscent of our childhood; although our kites were the 5¢ paper ones.
3. Magpie - sitting on a treated pine log bordering a park.
From time to time, you hear of people stealing these logs and using them for barbecues.
However, these logs have been treated to prevent rot and also against termites (which are plentiful here) and these people poison themselves from the fumes which they inhale and ingest through the barbecued meat.
