Skinless Lemon on Tree

New Hybrid? Genetic modification?

Not photoshopped. Saw this over the fence in neighbour's yard.

My guess is either birds or rats might have eaten the skin. (Lots of rats around the neighbourhood; they drive Flemington beserk!)
