Bike Week Event - A Free Breakfast (And Three Bridges To Cross)

I decided to ride to one of our annual Bike Week events, which is a free breakfast for all who come on bicycles.

It is situated about halfway to the city from my home, and mainly aimed at bicycle commuters who work in Perth.

The pic above shows the lower deck of the Mt Henry Bridge, which caters for pedestrians and cyclists. There is another similar carriageway on the other side of the bridge. Click here for a pic of Mt Henry Bridge from a previous post

The above is a view from Mt Henry Bridge showing Perth in the distance (about 4 km away), at about 7:41am, 22 April. It was a beautiful autumn morning, about 15C, perfect for cycling.

The bridge towards the left of the picture is the older Canning Bridge, about 2.5 km away from where this pic was taken. The Bike Week breakfest is at the western end (left of pic) of the bridge.

The morning crawl along the Kwinana Freeway. These cyclists go faster than the car commuters

The cycleway takes you past some nice river beaches. This is the Canning River, which joins the Swan where Perth sits.

Above, approaching Canning Bridge. The little white building on the extreme left, is our Raffles Hotel.

Below, the cyclepath on Canning Bridge. Raffles Hotel is on the right.

Finally, the breakfast.

My breakfast - it's not fancy, but it's free!

The sweet seventeen year old steed that brought me there.

The third bridge, the Riley Road bridge, tells me I'm only 3 km from home.
