Dogwalk: Drinks for Doggies

The local council has built a barbecue at the local sports ground where Flem and I walk a few times a week.
What was interesting to me, however, is the water fountain they installed there: our furry friends are not forgotten as there is a little bowl attached to the base where they can drink from.
Tried to get him to drink for a pic, but he wouldn't.
Incidentally, this sports ground is one of the larger ones around here.  As you can see from Google's satellite pic, there are three footy and cricket ovals adjacent to each other.
A few years ago, Flem would run around at least two of the fields, but nowadays he'd just wallk around the cluster of buildings that house the changing rooms, clubhouse and viewing terraces.

However, his arthritis pills are doing him good.  This time last year, he'd be limping around but now he can run.

Here, he's running round the changerooms:
And down from the viewing terrace and clubhouse.
There are quite a few lovely old gum trees providing shade for spectators here.
In Aussie Rules you score  a point for a near miss at goal; you get a point if you kick the ball between the short and taller poles (see above pic).  Goal is a kick between the two taller poles - six points.  I'm not a fan - don't generally watch sport.

There is also an artificial turf hockey pitch here.

Time to go home.

  1. Beautiful!!! Love the lawn, so green and well-kept...and the surrounding trees. I love such places overseas very much, just sit around...do nothing, enjoying the peace and quiet and the lovely cool temperate climate. I wouldn't want to do that here, would be so uncomfortably hot, sweating from every pore.

    1. Trouble is, once you live here, you tend to take things for granted. Without my dog, I would have never set foot here!

    1. It'll be a good place for that, as it's pretty quiet most days. Really only busy during the weekends. Thanks for your comment.
