A Win!

Both Sons 1 and 2 are big basketball fans.   They support the local team, the Perth Wildcats and attend every home game and a few away ones.

A few weeks ago, during the school holidays, all three grandchildren came dressed in the Wildcats team shirt.

This photo was taken by their Mum on her phone.
Apparently, the Wildcats have an ongoing competition on their social media page that awards what they consider the "Selfie of the Week".

Someone suggested to Mum that she should submit this photo.

And guess what?  Even though not technically a "selfie", the pic won Mum a polo shirt!
Incidentally, the Perth Wildcats are on the verge of breaking a world record.

If they win tonight's game, they would have managed entry to 30 consecutive playoff appearances in any professional sport.

The current record of 29 is held by the Boston Bruins (hockey).

Generally, I don't watch sport -  only the Tour de France each year, which is telecast live here on free tv (I don't have pay tv).

It is interesting to see how the kids have grown up so fast.

  3. Red is the official colour of your home team? It's got the support of SG50 - its official colour is also red :)

    1. Their colours are actually red with black. I don't follow the game, only know bits and pieces which I pick up from the kids. Should be SG51 by now, surely?

    2. Ah, so, the neck and shoulder lines are in black. But wait, tiny's neckline is missing the black. He's a "half-supporter". Tiny's expression seems to be asking "When can I become a "full-supporter?". Trying to figure out the small prints - what does "alcoholthingag..." mean? Cannot see clearly the prints above it. Just being kaypoh. Are "4" and "24" the numbers of the team's top scorers?

    3. The slogan is "Alcohol Think Again" - an attempt to slow drinkers down. I think the numbers belong to certain players, and you wear their number in support of them.

    1. Yes, he's cheeky and mischievous. The other two were (and still are) very good children; this one's a little devil. He makes up for the other two.
