The morning following the meet-up with Kin Mun and Geok Hwee, I went to Melbourne to help newly-single Son no. 2 pack up and drive to a new home, new life and new job in Perth.
Day One: Monday, 3 May 2010: Melbourne to Keith (550 km)
We couldn't leave till about noon, having to await the removalists and to finish up a few final chores.
Nick and Zhaan, (pronounced Zen), his Canaan dog. Never heard of it? Neither had I. Read about Canaans here.
Zhaan, all sedated and ready to go!
Day Two: Tuesday, 4 May 2010: Keith to Ceduna (approx 1000 km)
Not many photo stops this time, priority was to get home to Perth. So only a few photos were taken, mostly through the car window.
Of course, I can't resist a revisit to the building at Snowtown, famous for the "Bodies in the Barrels" serial killings. Read about it here.
Day Three: Wednesday 5 May 2010: Ceduna to Perth (approx 1800 km)
The original plan was to stay overnight at Norseman (1200 from Ceduna) but we actually gained 1.5 hours on crossing the WA border and arrived there at 4 pm (having left Ceduna at 5:40 am or 4:10 am Perth time).
Since it was still early, we decided to push on to Perth, arriving home at 11:30 pm.
A cloudy day on the 90 mile straight section of the Nullarbor.
Home
The big question at home was, would Flem accept Zhaan. I was hopeful he would, because Zhaan is female.
Here is a shot of them resting together:
And then Flem got into her bed!
No problem when boy meets girl lah ARthur. Maybe soon you'll have grandbabies if she's not spayed.!
