B's First Birthday

The plan was for a picnic at King's Park, but last Sunday turned out to be really cold, windy and rainy.

Grandma C, always the great organiser, rang around her contacts and managed to rent a scout hall for the occasion.
The location was great, right on the shores of the Swan River.  In the following photo, you can catch a glimpse of the city skyline.
The river was quite choppy due to the strong winds.
A wind-blown big sister helped to unload toys for the party ...
... and a protective big brother took care of him.
A found a gym mat in the hall and showed off her moves.
Kids enjoying themselves.
Yes, B had a bad runny nose, but that didn't deter him.
Cake time.
Grandma C made the cake.

    1. Grandma's retirement hobby is cake decorating. The banner is a re-run of B's birth last year, when Grandma made these cupcakes to celebrate.
